Electronic Drum Kit:
Roland V-Drum Set, includes;
- 4 Toms
- 1 Snare
- 2 Crash cymbals
- 1 Ride cymbal
- 1 Hi-hat
- Double bass drum pedal setup
- 2 auxiliary input triggers
The Roland set also has an integrated metronome, triggered
music loops and triggered percussion
loops that you can play along with. You
can also play along with songs from your favorite artists
with a V-Drum kit. I use my auxiliary inputs so I can get
a good rim click sound with any kit setup in memory, and for other
sounds.
Hand Drums and Other Percussion:
Please visit my hand drum and exotic percussion page for photos, playing techniques and brief histories of the instruments I own.
Other Accessories;
Boss, "Dr.Beat" -
A good metronome for rehearsing with your kit, hand drums,
practice pads, or, just a pillow. One thing i really dislike about this product is its tendency to go through 9-volt batteries WAY too fast. This is mainly because it draws a lot of power not just when being used - BUT ALSO WHEN IT IS "ON" YET NOT BEING USED. Oh well, I guess no product is perfect.
LaserMetronome -
A great tool for studio work or
group rehearsals. It's laser beam makes no sound and can be seen on almost
any surface (and at incredible distances). As well as having a pulsing mode, it has a sweeping "back and forth" "beam mode" that's similar in affect to a conductor leading an orchestra. This mode gives
musicians the ability to play slightly ahead or
behind the beat too (for any desired feel). It can also be MIDI interfaced.
Drumometer II ™ - The Drumometer™ is
one of the most important practice tools I own. With its integral metronome and triggering
REMO pad, there's nothing more able to validate
your sticking accuracy at
any mm setting. This is because this unit counts every beat (hands
or feet).
It's
a great device to help evaluate/improve a weak hand or foot,
make sure you are playing exercises as written, to work on new drum techniques, and/or
to see how slow or fast you can play grooves and fills. It has a foot pedal as well; to enable you to restart an exercise and the device.
